Poker is a game of chance (it’s not without skill, though) in which players put chips into the pot to form the highest-ranking hand at the end of each betting round. The player with the best hand wins the pot. Each player ante’s an amount (typically a small number of chips, such as a nickel) and is dealt cards face down.
